Call your MSP—Identity debate today!

Today there is a debate on the Scottish National Identity Database a little after 2pm.

It is being created through a weak consultation and a single vote later this year. the consultation is so bad that the Information Commissioner for Scotland has pointed out that it may be illegal in its current form. He has also said that an identity register with a ubiquitous “Unique Citizen Reference Number” should be subject to proper legislation.

You can help today! Email or call your MSP now and ask them to go to the debate at 2pm and vote for the motion on Privacy and the State.

Phone Holyrood switchboard and ask for your MSP on 0131 348 5000 or 0800 092 7500

Say you think this change deserves full legislation as it creates a national identity database. You can also read our FAQ for help.
